Merry Christmas!
Hey hey Caregivers,
By this point, I’d imagine many of you have had increased caregiving responsibilities, especially with any extra days at home if you were impacted by this blizzard and bitter cold. I know how much extra stress and exhaustion these extra days can be, especially if you still have another week and a half left of extra caregiving responsibilities. Today, I just want to say thank you for all the extra work you’re doing and the extra sacrifices you’ve made to spend time with your sweet care recipients.
For staff caregivers who are giving up time with their own families to stand in the gap and make this Christmas so special for your care recipients, thank you. Thank you for the memories and the value you are bringing to your care recipient’s life. Thank you for following through on your commitment and choosing to provide the best care possible, even on days when you may rather be with your family.
To the family caregivers who are putting in all the additional work to help your care recipient be included in the family festivities, thank you for going the extra mile to help them to be included and for bringing that value and meaning to their lives. I know it is not easy, but your work and commitment to your loved one has so much value and meaning. Thank you for providing care and creating family time with everyone.
As we step into Christmas Eve and Christmas day, I pray you would find peace and joy in whatever you have planned (or not planned). I pray that as you spend time with your care recipients and time doing other things, that you would be filled with Christ’s love and peace for all that he has called you to.
Merry Christmas,
<3 Rebecca
